The Sly Park main boat launch will be closed for one day only on Monday, July 6. Stonebraker boat launch will remain open. Sly Park campgrounds are completely sold out for the fourth of July holiday weekend. Make your reservations online and save the $8 reservation fee. Just click on the button to the right, or call 530-295-6810. Gate hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. RESERVATIONS ARE ACCEPTED UP TO 14 MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF THE ARRIVAL DATE.

Located in the in the western foothills of El Dorado County just 13 miles east of Placerville, picturesque Sly Park Recreation Area features a plethora of activities and historical insights. Jenkinson Lake, at the center of the park, is also a major source of water for EID customers. The lake, formed in the mid-1950s when the federal Bureau of Reclamation built Sly Park dam, has a storage capacity of 41,000 acre-feet of high-quality water.

Protect our Water Source
Jenkinson Lake is a major source of drinking water for El Dorado County. To protect our water, park visitors must keep all domestic animals and all children in diapers out of the lake.
