Water Surveys

WATER WISE BUSINESS CALLS. This program offers a complimentary water-use survey for commercial, industrial, and institutional properties to assist both EID and City of Placerville business customers to identify any plumbing leaks and fine tune their irrigation schedules. After a customer contacts EID, a District Water Efficiency Specialist will schedule their water survey to conduct a thorough inspection of all water-using appliances, including the exterior landscape irrigation system. At the end of the survey, a detailed report will offer the customer water-saving recommendations.

Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzles

ATTENTION: Commercial businesses using older pre-rinse spray nozzles. Receive a new pre-rinse spray nozzle at no cost, including installation, when you have a complimentary Water Wise Business Call survey. The new low-flow, high-efficiency, and high-velocity pre-rinse spray valves replace older 2 to 6 gallon per minute spray valves, and may save as much as $1,000* per year in hot water costs.

*Estimate is based upon tests developed by Fisher and Nickel, Inc. within the scope of the Food Service Technology Center Program, on average pre-rinse spray valve use, and overall California gas, water, and wastewater costs. Actual savings may differ.

Toilet Rebates

If your building was built before 1992 and you have toilets that uses 3.5 gallons of water per flush or more, you may be eligible to receive a rebate—a credit on account for EID customers or a check by mail for City of Placerville customers. To qualify, new toilets must be installed at an address that is served by EID or the City of Placerville. Refer to the rebate application for a complete description of eligibility requirements.

NEW commercial toilet rebate program in 2008. In cooperation with the California Department of Water Resources and the Regional Water Authority, EID is now able to offer a higher rebate for new ultra low flow toilets (ULFT) or high efficiency toilets (HET) to EID or City of Placerville water service customers. The new program offers up to $300 rebates for the ULFT and the HET—up to the retail cost, whichever is less. The purchase of these toilets must be made on or after 01/01/08 to be eligible for the higher rebate amount. Click here to download the rebate form. Washer Rebates

CURRENT commercial washer rebate program. Rebates are offered to EID or City of Placerville water service customers for the purchase of qualifying high efficiency, water saving clothes washers (HEW). To qualify, the new washers must be installed at an address that is served by EID or the City of Placerville. Refer to the rebate application for a complete description of eligibility requirements. EID water customers will receive a rebate credit on their billing account, and City of Placerville water customers will be mailed a rebate check.

The rebates are currently $65 for a Tier 2 HEW or $125 for a Tier 3 HEW with a Water Factor (WF) of 6.0 or less as rated by Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) for water and energy savings. Just download a copy of the rebate form from this webpage, completely fill in the form to avoid delays, and then drop it off or send by mail with your original sales receipt to 2890 Mosquito Road, Placerville, CA 95667. COMING April 2008: A new clothes washer rebate program! In cooperation with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, EID will soon be able to offer a higher rebate for new high efficiency, water saving clothes washers (HEW) to EID or City of Placerville water service customers. The new cooperative program is currently being developed to offer $125 for a Tier 2 HEW or $200 for a Tier 3 HEW, but the purchase of these washers must be after the effective date of the new program.
