Complimentary water conservation, landscape irrigation, and educational materials are available to local school districts and all EID and City of Placerville customers.

In 2005, EID in collaboration with 10 partnering water agencies, developed an educational CD called Water-Wise Gardening in the Gold Country Region, El Dorado, Placer and Sacramento Counties. The CD illustrates both the beauty and sensibility of native and drought-tolerant plants with current landscape trends and designs.

This year, in support of water conservation education, EID and the Regional Water Authority are sponsoring The Great Water Mystery, an assembly theatrical program for elementary school age children featuring Detective Drizzle.

Complimentary publications and the new Water-Wise Gardening software are distributed as part of EID's Water Survey Program, at events such as the El Dorado County Home and Garden Show and annual fair, and are always available on request.
