During the exterior survey by a field technician, you may also request new low-flow showerheads and bathroom faucet aerators, toilet flappers, and toilet tank dams to reduce flush volume. If your building is eligible, the new plumbing fixtures will be provided to you for self-installation. NOTE: There is no obligation to make improvements or submit a rebate request after your landscape survey.

Large landscape submetering with ET controller—Available to EID commercial, industrial, and institutional (CII) customers only

REDUCE YOUR SEWER BILLS AND SAVE WATER
. EID is the recipient of a Proposition 50 water efficiency grant from the California Department of Water Resources for the “Commercial, Industrial, Institutional (CII) Submetering with ET Controller Program.”

CII customers currently on mixed use water meters—both building and landscape water usage billed through the same meter—can apply for this grant funding. CII customers receiving EID sewer service billed by volume of water used can immediately benefit from reduced sewer billings. A submeter tracks water used for the landscape irrigation and this water demand is then subtracted from the main meter that is used to calculate the sewer bill. The program is available to EID’s CII water service customers with 5,000 square-feet or more of irrigated landscape area.

Download this short eligibility survey to see if you qualify, or download this cost sharing matrix for additional details. Eligible CII customers will receive a complimentary landscape water survey. EID then provides a submeter for the customer to install and connect to their water system downstream of the EID meter. After the submeter has been installed and accepted by EID, the customer then receives a $1,000 product voucher and a $300 installation voucher to obtain, and have professionally installed, a “Smart” ET irrigation controller to further improve water efficiency for the irrigation system. ET refers to evapotranspiration—a combination of moisture lost to the atmosphere and used by the plants.

You may also download and complete a customer agreement and application and drop off or send by mail to 2890 Mosquito Road, Placerville, CA 95667. Please contact EID’s Office of Water Efficiency at 530-642-4126 or officeofwaterefficiency@eid.org if you have any questions
