WATER WISE HOUSE CALLS. This program offers a complimentary water-use survey inside and outside your home to assist both EID and City of Placerville customers to identify any plumbing leaks and fine tune their irrigation schedules. The house call includes a water meter pressure check, inspection of all water-use appliances, and a complete inspection of your irrigation system. A customized report with water-saving recommendations is provided at the end of each survey, including a site-specific irrigation schedule. Program participants also receive a free copy of our Water-Wise Gardening in the Gold Country Region CD and other water conservation publications. To sign up for a Water Wise House Call, use this link to submit a request online or call the Office of Water Efficiency at 530-642-4126.
WATER CONSERVATION KITS. In 1992 the State of California adopted new plumbing standards for toilets, showerheads, and faucet aerators. If your plumbing fixtures are high-flow, then free low-flow water showerheads, faucet aerators, and toilet tank banks will be offered during the Water Wise House Call survey. You may also pick up a retrofit water conservation kit at EID's headquarters building at 2890 Mosquito Road in Placerville.
If your home was built before 1992 and you have a toilet that uses 3.5 gallons of water per flush or more, you may be eligible to receive a rebate—a credit on account for EID customers or a check by mail for City of Placerville customers. To qualify, new toilets must be installed at an address that is served by EID or the City of Placerville. Refer to the rebate application for a complete description of eligibility requirements.

The purchase of these toilets must be made on or after 01/01/08 to be eligible for the higher rebate amount.
