Dual-plumbed homes have two sets of pipes serving each lot. One set is for drinking water. The other—purple piping—is for recycled water, which is used only for landscape irrigation.

EID requires an irrigation plan and the inspection of the recycled water purple piping that is installed for the landscaping.
