FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Placerville, Calif. — On November 16, EID’s mandatory watering restrictions moves into its winter season. From November 16 through April 15, 2015, District customers are limited to watering just one day per week. For customer addresses ending in an even number, that day is Sunday. For odd number addresses, the day is Saturday. On scheduled days, customers should limit watering to before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m.
These mandatory water restrictions remain in place for Residential, Recycled, Commercial/Landscape (CII), Small Farm, and Recreational Turf water customers. Exemptions are allowed for nonresidential customers if a detailed conservation plan is submitted to the District that demonstrates a minimum 30% water savings over baseline use. Complete information is available at www.eid.org/WateringRestrictions.
Customer conservation has steadily increased since the watering restrictions were declared in April. EID thanks you for your good conservation practices. But we don’t want to reduce our efforts now. We want to be prepared with adequate carryover storage should we endure a fourth year of drought.
EID is a public agency dedicated to providing high quality water, wastewater treatment, recycled water, hydropower, and recreation services in an environmentally and fiscally responsible manner.
