FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Placerville, Calif. — In an effort to provide additional tools for customers to better understand their household's water usage, all bills will now show gallons and give a "gallons per day" total alongside the standard usage in cubic feet.

The new information is located directly below the utility account information.

This provides an easy-to-understand way for customers to track their usage. Many of the water-saving brochures use gallons to indicate how much customers can save through a variety of methods.

“Customers will now be able to more easily track and plan their water savings,” said EID Customer Services Manager Jenny Downey. “When they learn that by reducing shower times from 10 minutes to 5 minutes they could save up to 12.5 gallons daily, this will be more meaningful in the context of their bills.”
