At its November 13 meeting, the El Dorado Irrigation District Board of Directors adopted the 2013 operating budget in the amount of $43.8 million. In accordance with Board policy, the Board adopts a two-year budget and conducts a mid-cycle review to determine any changes that may be needed in the second year of the cycle.

On October 4, 2012, the Court of Appeal for the Third Appellate District issued its decision on the cross-appeals by the Shingle Springs Rancheria and the Voices for Rural Living from the El Dorado County Superior Court’s decision in Voices for Rural Living v. EID. El Dorado Irrigation District (District) did not appeal this case.

On Tuesday, September 11, members of the El Dorado Irrigation District (District) Board of Directors attended a special board meeting and heard staff reports on projects included in the revised five-year capital improvement plan.

On September 11 at 9 a.m., EID will be holding a tour of next year’s capital improvement plan (CIP) projects. The tour starts at District headquarters in Placerville and reservations, while not required, are recommended.

El Dorado Irrigation District is planning to begin a sewer pipeline construction project in late October along Durock Road in Shingle Springs. The construction area will be between Oakmont Lane and Pin Lane. In accordance with the County’s encroachment permit, it is anticipated that construction will occur between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Sewer services will not be affected during construction.

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is a thorough and detailed look at the EID's finances. The CAFR includes a financial overview, discussion of the local economy, and an organization chart of the District, as well as the independent auditor's report, management's discussion and analysis, and audited basic financial statements and other statistical information.

EID launched a new, redesigned website at the end of June. The new website uses a robust content management system that helps to ensure information is posted in a timely and easily-accessible manner. The website also adds new ways for visitors to receive information automatically.

District Receives Upgraded Credit Rating Saving Ratepayers a Million Dollars Over Time; Favorable Financial Audit Report Accepted and Filed by Board
During its June 25, 2012 Board meeting, EID General Manager Jim Abercrombie announced that the District has received an A+ credit rating to its $55 million Refunding Revenue Bonds Series 2012A and $2.0 million Refunding Revenue Bonds Series 2012B from Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services.

For the third year in a row, EID is opening its El Dorado Hills water and wastewater facilities to the public for tours.
