	Day-use areas Day-use picnic areas are located throughout Sly Park Recreation Area. One large day-use area is located a half mile from the gatehouse entrance, and all are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Boats are available for rent. Click here for boat rental fees. Hours October through April Monday – Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. May through September Monday – Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Annual day-use permits Annual day-use permits for vehicles and boats are valid for day-use only. You can purchase annual permits at the reservation office. Permits are available for purchase all year. Day-use permits are valid at Sly Park Recreation Area and at Caples and Silver lakes.
