Temporary Water Use Permits

The District offers three options for you to obtain temporary water use for your project.

1. Card lock bulk water stations. Seven stations are located within EID's service area. These card lock water stations provide water to customers with prepaid cards that are available at the District office. A straight commodity charge is applied to water from these stations. There is a $10 fee for the cash card and no recurring fees or charges. The cards are reusable and should be treated as cash. Users must return to District headquarters to add additional funds to their card. No refunds are offered for unused balances. 2. Interim bulk water stations. Four interim bulk water stations have been placed within EID's service area. These bulk water stations require the user to have an approved permit and a key to allow access to the stations. A daily fee of $5 is charged to users to draw water from these stations. There is a $25 fee to set up an account and users are billed bi-monthly for the daily fee. There is a $500 charge for lost keys. There is no commodity charge for water drawn from interim bulk water stations. These stations will be replaced with card lock bulk water station at the District's earliest opportunity. 3. Fixed meter. These meters are located at the closest approved fire hydrant or blow-off to a customer project. The customer must have an approved permit for the District to set the hardware at the requested location. The customer must provide a hardware deposit to the District and will pay a $25 fee to set up the account, basic water charges (which include a daily fee), and commodity water charges.
