Public Tour – El Dorado Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant

Join the El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) for a public tour of the El Dorado Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant
This behind-the-scenes tour offers an opportunity to learn how EID collects, treats, and safely returns wastewater to the environment while helping protect public health and local waterways.
Participants will learn how wastewater travels through the collection system to the treatment facility, where it undergoes multiple treatment processes before being treated and managed in accordance with state and federal regulations. During the tour, attendees will gain insight into:

The importance of maintaining and reinvesting in critical public infrastructure
The El Dorado Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant plays an important role in EID’s wastewater system by serving residential, commercial, and community needs throughout portions of EID’s service area.

Important Safety Information
This tour is primarily outdoors and includes walking on uneven terrain, stairs, and operational facility areas. Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes.
For safety reasons, children under 12 years old are not permitted on the tour.
All participants will be required to sign an EID liability waiver prior to participating.
