Sly Park Recreation Voted Best Recreation Facility by Mountain Democrat Readers
Sly Park Recreation Area was again voted "Best Recreation Facility" by Mountain Democrat readers.
It's a great honor that one of EID’s recreation facilities won the Reader's Choice Award. As EID's largest water supply reservoir, Jenkinson Lake offers a variety of outdoor opportunities for visitors from our community and beyond.
Sly Park is open all year, only closing during severe weather events. The park has over nine miles of trails that wind around the lake where you can bike, hike, or your horse.
Visitors looking for additional hiking or riding opportunities can access more than thirty additional miles from the park. Anglers can enjoy fishing on or by the lake. If rest and relaxation is more your style then you can just sit lakeside and enjoy the view.
The park’s amenities include an equestrian campground, an event center and group camping areas, as well as over 190 individual campsites. Non-motorized boat rentals are also available to rent Memorial to Labor Day. Campsites are equipped with fire pits and picnic tables, with vault toilets located conveniently throughout the park.
And 2019 day-use passes are available now—they make great gifts for family or friends and include day use at Caples and Silver lakes located along Highway 88. That’s three beautiful Sierra lakes for the price of one!
