PG&E Working to Prevent Powerline Damage During Storm Events at Sly Park Recreation Area

Post Date:11/02/2018 10:00 AM

PG&E has begun tree trimming and falling work at Sly Park Recreation Area to prevent damage to powerlines in advance of the winter storm season.

The work is affecting the accessibility of trails on the south side of Jenkinson Lake. The Waterfall Trailhead (formerly called Bumpy Meadows) parking area is currently closed as it is being utilized as a staging area for PG&E's contractors.   Some sites in the Sierra campground are also closed due to this work.

For safety purposes, PG&E’s contractors may reroute hikers on trails they are actively working on or around. Campers may also be inconvenienced by sporadic campsite closures and the sounds of the trimming and falling trees.

Thank you for your understanding during this time.
