PG&E CANCELED PSPS Event Wed. 11/20 through Thur. 11/21

During Power Outages, Please Conserve Water

Post Date:11/20/2019 12:45 PM

UPDATED POST: Wed. 11/20 12:45pm

PG&E has announced that have canceled the PSPS event for El Dorado County. Thank you to our customers for your patience and understanding during these events.

PG&E PSPS Event Please conserve water even if you do not lose power.

According to the most recent messages received from PG&E, there is an increased likelihood of a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff event beginning Wednesday, November 20 that is expected only to last into Thursday, November 21.

As with previous PG&E PSPS events, EID’s ability to provide water and wastewater treatment to our customers may be affected. Although many District facilities have backup power, it is limited only to meet minimum public health and safety needs. Your water will continue to be safe to drink as water quality will be unaffected by the power outage.

Once again we are asking customers throughout EID’s service area to be prepared to discontinue any non-essential water usage once PG&E shuts off power, including outdoor irrigation, running dishwashers and clothes washers, and car washing. This will help us ensure drinking water supplies and sanitary sewer services are adequate to maintain basic health and safety level service to customers throughout the duration of this event. Leading up to the anticipated PG&E PSPS event, customers are encouraged to maintain water usage for typical needs.

Thank you for your continued efforts during these events.
