The California Municipal Treasurers Association (CMTA) issued a press release on January 5, 2026 stating that the Investment Policy Certification had been granted to the El Dorado Irrigation District. The District formally announced the certification at its regular Board meeting on January 12, 2026.
This certification is awarded following an independent review process conducted by CMTA professionals. It confirms that the District’s Investment Policy complies with State of California Government Code requirements and aligns with best practices for public funds management. Agencies must achieve a score of 85 out of 100 to receive certification, and the District received an average score of 95.3.
“This certification reflects the District’s continued commitment to accountability, transparency, and financial stewardship, and the ongoing efforts of staff to strengthen our financial practices and public trust,” said General Manager Vandeyar.
