Pravani Vandeyar brings more than 30 years of experience in scientific research, development, and utilities management. She spent over 18 years with the City of Sacramento Department of Utilities, where she held progressively responsible roles before being appointed Director in 2023. She has strong expertise in water quality, regulatory compliance, emergency management, organizational leadership, strategic planning, and communications. Her academic background includes both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in chemistry.

Vandeyar has been actively involved in national and regional organizations, including the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies, American Water Works Association, Association of California Water Agencies, California Municipal Utilities Association, and the Water Forum.

 Pravani and her husband currently reside in Carmichael with their two children, who are attending community college. They are looking forward to relocating to the Placerville area.
