May 2025: A Century of Community Connection and Water Awareness

May is Water Awareness MonthAs the District celebrates 100 years of service, during May we honor the deep connections formed through water — the lifeblood of our region and the heart of our mission.

Water awareness isn’t just about conservation — it’s about recognizing the essential role water plays in our daily lives, from growing food and creating memories outdoors, to turning on the tap or flushing the toilet. For a century, EID has proudly delivered safe, reliable services that support our community’s homes, businesses, agriculture, and recreation.

Celebrating a Legacy of Learning and Leadership

Education is at the core of what we do. This month, we were proud to participate in events like Ag in the Classroom’s Farm Day, where local students explored where their water comes from and how it supports the food they eat. These moments help shape the next generation of water stewards.

Leadership El Dorado Class 17We also hosted Leadership El Dorado at Sly Park Recreation Area for a deeper dive into the systems that sustain our region — from drinking water and wastewater treatment to hydropower and recreation. These experiences foster a shared understanding of how interconnected our natural resources, infrastructure, and community truly are.

Whether it’s maintaining water lines, educating customers about conservation, or preserving recreation access at places like Jenkinson Lake, our goal is to ensure our community continues to thrive — together.

Your Water. Your Story.

These everyday stories are the foundation of our centennial celebration.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to listening, adapting, and growing with the people we serve. Because when we understand the value of water — and each other — we build a stronger, more connected future.
